Favorite Workout: I like mixing it up- every day doing something different (favorite in this order- HIIT, resistance (weight) training, resistance (stretch) training, yoga, walking, running, indoor cycle)
Favorite time of day to work out: afternoon/evening
Describe your ideal client/class participant: Either someone looking to increase muscle, or someone overcoming physical obstacles (knee pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, etc.)
What is the most important thing you would want a new client/class participant to know about you? I am not your “biggest loser” type trainer. I want to help people gradually incorporate diet changes and exercise into their lives without it “taking over their lives”. Think “baby steps” and “moderation”. I am also a stickler for correct form. If I see poor form, I will stop you and we are going to back up and break down that exercise. It’s not just about moving the weight- it’s about working the muscle!
What is your “go to” workout song? I have been using a free podcast called “Podrunner” when I’m running. It’s electronic house music that comes in a variety of beats per minute. You pick the episodes that time with your walking or running cadence. I run at about a 170 BPM cadence, and with the music keeps perfect time to my stride, I swear I run faster when I’m listening to it!
Additional info: I enjoy cooking- a LOT!!! Although I don’t agree with “quick weight loss), and am not a dietician, I do strongly believe that many foods have very powerful nutritional benefits, and that some foods can cause the body to become acidic, increasing inflammation. Sugar, wheat and sometimes dairy are usually the main foods causing inflammation- sometimes even sinus problems and headaches! Learning to know what foods work best for you is key to a well-functioning body!
